چکیده

VEGA is an interactive geometric modelling system which has been developed at Carnsgie-Meilon University primarily for education in architecture and the arts. Its educational use is twofold: first as a medium for description and manipulation of form to aid in creative work and second as a base package of procedures that may be used by advanced architecture students in the creation of specialized modelling packages. VEGA is written in PASCAL. There are versions of VEGA currently running on VAX 11 /780computers under the UNIX and VMS operating systems. VEGA has been designed to run on a standalone personal computer. Currently VEGA is being converted to run on Sun Microsytem and PERQ machines. VEGA is used in the undergraduate curriculum of the School of Architecture at Carnegie-Mellon University. Its primary use to date has been as a means to introduce geometric modelling to architecture students who have minimal computer experience. VEGA may be v?ewed as a complete geometric modelling package or as a programming aid for development of special purpose geometric modelling programs. To date, one such specialized system, a robot arm design package, has been created as a student project. The development of the VEGA system is continuing. Current areas of interest include the development of more powerful geometric operations on polyhedra, parametric shapes and assemblies, instancing of sub-assemblies, user definition of primitive shapes and an interactive macro language for the manipulation of form. Vega|a User-centered Approach to the Distributed Visualization of Geometric Algorithms Institut F Ur Informatik | Technical Report 117

We present a new approach to the distributed visualization of geometric algorithms that emphasizes the position of the end user. Concepts are introduced that enable a more ex-ible usage of visualized geometric algorithms, while keeping the task of adapting existing algorithms to the new scheme as simple as possible. A main proposition is that interactivity should not be built into the visualize...

Discrete Time Analysis of Multi-Server Queueing System with Multiple Working Vacations and Reneging of Customers‎

This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...

Target detection Bridge Modelling using Point Cloud Segmentation Obtained from Photogrameric UAV

In recent years, great efforts have been made to generate 3D models of urban structures in photogrammetry and remote sensing. 3D reconstruction of the bridge, as one of the most important urban structures in transportation systems, has been neglected because of its geometric and structural complexity. Due to the UAV technology development in spatial data acquisition, in this study, the point cl...

Using Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms for Modelling and Multi-objective Optimal Heat Exchange through a Tube Bank

In this study, by using a multi-objective optimization technique, the optimal design points of forced convective heat transfer in tubular arrangements were predicted upon the size, pitch and geometric configurations of a tube bank. In this way, the main concern of the study is focused on calculating the most favorable geometric characters which may gain to a maximum heat exchange as well as a m...
